Yep, suffice it to say, it’s been a big year – and, for many reasons, I suspect that 2020 will be even bigger.
On New Year’s Day 2019, I was messing around on Facebook, and came across a 6 minute + video that had been shared by Lisa Martin, which documented her 2018 in 365 consecutive seconds – one recorded each day. It was put together courtesy of an app called 1SE (1 Second Everyday). I was intrigued, and decided that it could be fun to try making my own video for 2019. And that’s exactly what I did (in fact, the last of my 365 second-long snippets was recorded just 20 minutes ago!) – and now I’m sharing it with all of you.
As you might expect, some days were certainly a lot more noteworthy and memorable than others – but, seeing it all put together, my curious little social experiment has proven to be an interesting snapshot of what’s been a particularly memorable year in the life of Ramy Al-Rufaie. September, you’ll be thoroughly unsurprised to see, was undoubtedly my favourite 1 month slice of the year.
I hope you guys enjoy. And have fun trying to spot/hear yourself (big gasp!) Kate Gregory, Anshul, Fay Roberts, Sally Pickard, Dave Bullimore, Mitchell David Kemish, Alexandra Hardcastle, Miriam Roberts, Julie Harris, Cheryl Farabella, Hussain Al-Rufaie, Martin Grant, Dan Hodson, Danielle Hodson, Mike Sacker, Dawn Wain, Maria Smith, Hannah Swanwick, Graham Martin, Carmen Barlow, Ali Al-Rufaie, Linda Needham, PM Crowe, Roxanne Buckley, Mark Salisbury, Tara Jones, Lisa Martin, Ben Dowell, Selwa Roberts, Niveen Al-Rufaie, Kaeli Bullock, Ben Bullock, Sukanya Deshraj, Priti Deshraj, Emma Hamilton, Katie Louise, Becky Liann, Laura Brennan, Steph Betts-Masters, Becci Garrett, Sam Blatherwick, Alex Robertson, Grace Harris, Adam Harris, and Clare Malone!
Also, just for the record – I am, I can assure you, nowhere near as big a glutton as this video doubtless portrays me to be (look, some days were hard to fill, okay?).
Happy New Year, my friends; here’s to a memorable 2020!
